ONCOMING CICADA (Natchez Trace MS)

ONCOMING CICADA (Natchez Trace MS)

The camera's auto-focus thought this was a great shot. The foreground is nice and sharp, and the background is out of focus--as it should be. Well, sometimes.

The fault is, of course, mine. A few shots like this are successful (generally with oncoming motorcycles and less of me to confuse the camera). But I keep trying whenever there's a curve or hill and attractive foliage. The vehicle had aesthetic appeal but I somehow photographed a cicada or other giant bug instead.
