MOON OVER POPS (Rt 66 Arcadia OK)
The moon is 100 Route 66-trips away from earth. But here it looks like a bubble of carbonation bursting from the Pops bottle.
This image was taken from across Rt 66 as the moon's edge intersected the upper surface of the straw. The lower right quadrant of moonlight illuminates the inside.
The companion image "Full Moon" taken the same night shows a larger scene including the Pops building. The moon is in the same position, but a greater distance from the straw--allowing for a different lighting effect.
