A section of narrow pre-1953 Rt 66 hugs a mountain curve with vegetation on both sides--even a shady patch!

The trees are thriving because of water coming off the mountain.

The Oatman section of Rt 66 is true mountain driving. The narrow blacktop is well maintained (recent patching is visible) and there are protective stone barriers. But it should not be attempted after dark and Oatman has no motels.
