This classic sign lit up like cat's eyes at night. The buttons are basically a type of costume jewelry and replaced early versions made of glass. This sign would have been state-of-the-art in the 1950s.

The reflectorized markers, signs, even lane stripes we take for granted today are a product of the Interstate era.

This sign is on display at Tulsa's Stokely Event Center, several miles from Rt 66.
