ERODING CHERUB (Lincoln Highway Marshalltown IA)

ERODING CHERUB (Lincoln Highway Marshalltown IA)

Even with one wing gone, this little guy still holds up his end of the deal. He's been out here since 1898 (facing the north wind too!) and he's seen the Lincoln Highway come and go.

The firm that commissioned him disappeared long ago in a merger. A steel I-beam now supports this cracked and eroded stone carving on the dilapidated Letts-Fletcher Building at 201 E. Main.
