ARCH #1 (Lincoln Highway Dixon IL)

ARCH #1 (Lincoln Highway Dixon IL)

Technically this is the "Memorial Arch" honoring veterans of what was then called "The War to End All Wars." We now call it World War I.

Because of road widening and increasing vehicle size over the years, this is the fourth structure with the name. It dates from 1985 and is made of fiberglass.

Signs on the far right note this is both the Lincoln Highway and Ronald Reagan Trail. Reagan was born in nearby Tampico IL and lived here for three years as a boy.
