BOW TIE EFFECT (Lincoln Highway Sterling IL)

BOW TIE EFFECT (Lincoln Highway Sterling IL)

Painted aluminum panels cover the upper half of a two-story building. Some panels have come off exposing the framing. These were used in the 1950s and 60s to hide upper floors of older buildings. Some versions allowed large signs to be affixed.

This installation is a little unusual because the building is from the same era and only two stories high.
