The wagon era was about to end when this sign was painted, likely between 1880 and 1910. And the bicycle craze was soon eclipsed as well--both by the automobile.

Although this sign has been up well over a century, there's evidence (largely in blue) of an earlier sign, including lettering and perhaps artwork.
