This sign on the side of a small store had been repainted, apparently from the original, about 20 years earlier. Now even the restoration is becoming a "ghost sign."

The overlapping boards and camera angle add to the scene--and it's not easy to improve on a classic Coke sign!

Although Carthage is a Route 66 city, this location is quite a distance away.
