The Mediterranean climate of the central CA coast extends inland to Auburn, 100+ miles (65 km) from the Pacific. This is despite an elevation above 1200 ft (370 m) and serious mountains a short drive to the east. This palm has no problem with winters--typical annual snowfall is just an inch.
