Chevron took over Texaco and used both corporate names--until shortening it to Chevron. But back when these stations went up the two were competitors.

The Texaco, at back, has traditional white porcelain steel with three green bands around the top.

The foreground canopy indicates the Chevron brand was abandoned and painted over. But that didn't work either.
