HISTORICAL PLACE (Marysville KS)
All trails did not pass through Marysville, but the Pony Express Trail did, along with main branches of the Oregon and California Trails. Some emigrants started out farther north and did not go through KS.
This metal plaque is in a park near a replica privately-operated ferry over the Big Blue River. It began operating in 1851 and carried much of the trail traffic.
