This was a shoe store chain that lasted from 1894-1998, part of the Woolworth dime store empire. Many later stores were free-standing, but this was in an existing downtown.

The floor and windows together create a subliminal arrow. The section nearest the sidewalk has been partially obliterated by years of foot traffic and corrosive salt in winter.
