GUARANTY BUILDING #1 (Erie Canal Buffalo NY)
The Erie Canal brought commerce and wealth to Buffalo. The Guaranty (or Prudential) Building, designed by famed architect Louis Sullivan, went up in 1895...near Buffalo's peak. The steel frame is covered in salmon terra cotta tiles.
Viewed complete from a distance, it's just an old light-brown building. So images in this series highlight details. Here an elaborately-decorated post appears and is reflected on glass against a backdrop of modern buildings.
