Too bad neon wasn't available when this building went up in 1897--they could have installed a flashing red sign that read SIN. Downstairs had gambling, upstairs had women-for-rent, and out back was an opium den. Perhaps the classiest part of the whole operation was the two-story outhouse.

The ornate front helped land this building on the National Register.
