STUD ('50s Studebaker Pickup) (Rt 66 Holbrook AZ)

STUD ('50s Studebaker Pickup) (Rt 66 Holbrook AZ)

Studebaker liked take-charge model names for its cars. Back in the '30s, it sold the top-of-the-line President, the mid-range Commander, and the low-priced Dictator. (The Dictator had no back seat, possibly because dictators have to watch their backs!)

After World War II, Studebaker offered up the Champion.

So is it any leap to suggest that Studebaker's ruggedly dependable (and dependably rugged) pickup truck deserved to be called the Stud?
