HUPMOBILE ('41) FRONT DETAIL (Rt 66 Afton OK)

HUPMOBILE ('41) FRONT DETAIL (Rt 66 Afton OK)

This is one of the very last Hupmobiles ever made--or saved from the scrap metal recycler. Only 319 of these Skylark models came off the assembly line in Detroit.

This is part of the growing collection at Afton Station--especially Packards, but Citroen, Studebaker, DeSoto and others as well. Also an extensive selection of books, postcards and memorabilia.

It's all housed in a restored D-X (later shortened to DX) gas station from the 1930s--a Tulsa brand that, like the Hupmobile, is no more.

Good conversation too with the friendly and knowledgeable owner, Laurel. Check out her site: www.postcardsfromtheroad.net/afton.shtml
