Brilliant August sun in mid-day highlights the Art Deco styling magic at work on the 1929 Public Market (a/k/a Warehouse Market) on Rt 66.

The design is symmetrical and on the left you see it the way most people do--lit from the front and above.

But on the right, glare blots out the identical surface details. Instead, shadows highlight the lovely bas-relief design. I wonder how many people have noticed this in 80+ years?
