PHILLIPS 66 RESTORATION (Rt 66 McLean TX)

PHILLIPS 66 RESTORATION (Rt 66 McLean TX)

This was the first Phillips 66 station built outside Oklahoma. Repairs and service were done outside, which was state-of-the-art in 1928.

Despite size limitations and lots of competition, it functioned until the Interstate bypass of McLean.

The building looks, and is, tiny--with a doorway about 6 feet high! The "windows" are actually painted wood.
