COLEMAN THEATRE FRONT (Rt 66 Miami OK)
It's a building that would be right at home in much-larger Tulsa, or even Dallas.
The Coleman Theatre was built in 1929, just in time for the Great Depression...and the Dust Bowl...and the mass migration down the road right out front, Route 66. The mythical Joad Family came from near Sallisaw, 100 miles due south as the dust flies.
Now lovingly restored, the Coleman's marquee features a musical act from that era, the Texas Playboys, known for popularizing "Western Swing."
