Missouri contractor Maurice Gillioz built this theater in 1926. Two years later it needed an upgrade--a sound system for "talkies."

Gillioz had another important Route 66 connection. His company put up the mismatched twin bridges northeast of Catoosa OK in 1936 and 1957. The earlier, narrower, bridge has been removed and relocated nearby. The 1957 span remains in use.
