Neon isn't nearly as eye-catching on natural stone as it is on painted metal. The stone work would also likely have been far more expensive. Glass blocks add another unusual touch.

Too bad this once-lovely classic sign has been victimized by amateurish repairs. Glass blocks are broken and missing and only part of the neon still lights. Silicone caulk has been crudely applied apparently to stop leaks and rusting.

And the sign shop certainly didn't make this component with the "N" facing backward!
