This 1936 bridge railing was doing just fine for 75 years until--BAM!--something hit it around 2012 or so. Now the craftsmanship that went into it has been exposed.

Twisted wire was tied just right--connecting pieces of rebar (steel reinforcing bar) over which concrete was poured. This narrow bridge remains in use and the damage likely will not be repaired.
