66 CROSSING (Rt 66 Albuquerque NM)

66 CROSSING (Rt 66 Albuquerque NM)

A biker with the perfect jacket, and a momentary break in traffic, allowed this shot. This is the heart of downtown, right in front of the historic KiMo Theater (shown in other images).

The biker is eastbound on Central Avenue, the 1937 alignment. Early 66 (from Santa Fe) used Fourth Street which no longer goes through. Traffic must jog to Fifth or Third. So the biker is in the area where the two historic routings crossed.

The pedestrian crossing signal was altered in Photoshop.
