A local couple in a Jeep stopped to ask why I was on one knee struggling to photograph a puddle. This is why.
Turns out he pumped gas here in the full-service days of the 1970s.
In this scene, snowmelt dripping from a canopy roof creates reflections next to the stenciled "Old Route 66" shield. Ambient light after sunset illuminates the painted CAFE sign high above. Everything else is bathed in new LED-strips that faithfully recreate the glow of neon.
