Bands of neon become earrings and a necklace around this 1936 Art Deco masterpiece. The U-Drop Inn (shown in other images) is just behind the station. Rt 66 is along the right side.

US 83, a border-to-border highway, is in back of this vantage point. All the traffic, even during the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, justified something pretty fancy here.

This restored building appears in the original "Cars" movie about Route 66. In real life it's a chamber of commerce office.
