GRAFFITI MURAL (Rt 66 Mitchell IL)

Whatever it stands for, NZN is definitely not the name of a railroad.

Under all that paint is a multi-level new car carrier. Whoever did this had the luxury of time, possibly an extension ladder, and lots of paint.

Route 66 is in the foreground, and this image is an unpleasant reminder of what things were really like on the Mother Road. Stoplights, little towns, Deputy Barney Fife, and of course at-grade railroad crossings.

This shot is a hand-held "grabber" taken while waiting for nightfall at the Luna Cafe's newly-restored neon sign, just behind this vantage point.
