Strong morning sun--and a distant beam--create shadows framing the embossed letters USA. This legacy of steel manufacturing in 1929 appears as a patriotic motif across the bridge.

This beam seemed especially lovely with its combination of rust, artistically-decaying paint, and a sunlit spider's web. The faded green color was applied as camouflage in World War II.
