ARROW ROCK #8 (Arrow Rock MO)
The Huston Tavern went up around 1834 offering frontier food, alcoholic beverages and lodging.
The fording site of Arrow Rock was well-known decades earlier. Lewis and Clark passed by in 1804 and noted it in their diaries. Santa Fe Trail founder William Becknell operated the ferry here, and used it on his trips beginning in 1821.
