The view is approximately what a large dog would see from the swale, or gully, left by countless oxen and wagons. Two-thirds of the way up the original topsoil has been cut. Two-hundred years of wind, rain and snow have not erased the scar, but have allowed invasive desert plants to flourish in the eroded area.
