Only a portion of the main building is original.br/ br/ John Sutter gave his name to emtwo/em sites. The other, 45 miles (72 km) away is Sutter's emMill/em at Coloma CA. Gold was discovered in 1848 triggering a mass overland gold rush, and propelling CA to statehood in 1850.br/ br/ Although Coloma is 9 miles (15 km) from the Lincoln Highway, Mill images are included in this gallery.
