The Roman Catholic St. Francis Cathedral dates from 1886. An early version of Rt 66 went past here.

The sun rises behind the building at 7000 feet elevation. This morning it creates a pastel effect on thin clouds while the cut stone front basks in light from patio lamps just out of view.
