This Roman Catholic church was built between 1772-1816. This is the front with a natural adobe gateway framing the view. On a good monitor you can see pieces of straw.

This building has been widely photographed over the years. Georgia O'Keeffe painted here, fascinated at how the natural adobe structure seems to rise out of the land, especially on the back side.
