This is along a decayed stretch of Lancaster Pike west of downtown. Originally a toll road, it became the Lincoln Highway.

Pure Oil saw enough promise in this sliver of land to put up one of its early cottage stations. The last remaining pump dispensed kerosene, used as a heating fuel.

Pure survives as a regional brand in parts of the South.
