A faded sign under a wooden canopy evokes the 1920s or 30s. There is an even earlier sign underneath and part of the letter "W" is still visible at the upper right.

This old wooden building once housed the Newkirk Post Office and grocery. It also rented campground spaces and had a gas pump out front.
