A stylish mid-century sign, and a modern building in a great location, meant success along Route 66. This eating place has the additional draw of the Sun 'n Sand Motel right next door--part of its huge sign is casting a shadow. The balls on top are attention-getters.

I-40 didn't replace 66 through Santa Rosa until 1972.
