The Peter Colley Tavern dates from 1796 and had been in business 22 years when the National Road opened. Eight fireplaces provided heat. Despite vacancy and recent neglect the building is in good shape with repaired masonry. The barn in the distance is part of the property and historic, but in very bad shape.
