PENNSYLVANIA HOUSE (National Road Springfield OH)

PENNSYLVANIA HOUSE (National Road Springfield OH)

Built in 1839, it originally served as a restaurant, bar and hotel for National Road travelers. Arrival of the railroad just seven years later severely cut into business. It had several uses after that and fell into disrepair. Now restored, it is open on a very limited schedule for tours.

The stone marker was relocated from nearby. Markers were originally on the north side of the National Road. This building is on the south side, so directions are backward.
