CHEVY & CROSLEY WAGON (EARLY-50S) (National Road OH)
Diffused, weak sunlight of a late-Autumn day creates the glowing effect here, captured by a long exposure on slow-speed film. There's a barren tree with two visible limbs, fallen leaves and a fading barn. Everything has enjoyed a season in the sun, and is well past its prime.
These two rusting retirees are now merely content to "watch" the activity (such as it is) along the narrow bypassed National Road section in front of them. There was some excitement during my stop--a FedEx truck passed by!
The early-50s Chevy was the best-selling car of its day. The little Crosley wagon, of the same vintage, among the worst-selling. Ohio-based Crosley left the car business in 1952.
