BIEDENHARN #5 (Natchez Trace Vicksburg MS)

BIEDENHARN #5 (Natchez Trace Vicksburg MS)

The legendary Walker Evans photographed Vicksburg and Natchez in the 1930s. I looked for those urban sites and nearly all are gone--victims of progress, or a casino.

Biedenharn's, around since 1890, is one spot Evans apparently missed. This is an image he might have made--with natural late-day light hitting marble, wood, and old metal.
