BIEDENHARN #1 (Natchez Trace Vicksburg MS)

BIEDENHARN #1 (Natchez Trace Vicksburg MS)

Images in this series are interior shots of the restored 1890 Biedenharn Candy Company building downtown, now a museum. In 1894, it became the first place to bottle Coca-Cola for the local market--and some early bottles are displayed above.

Coke was originally sold only as a fountain drink, mixed with your choice of regular or carbonated water by someone called a Soda Jerk.

This ornate inlaid marble unit is a fountain dispenser, a 1900 Liquid Carbonic model shown in detail in other images.
