HERE WE ARE (Rt 66 Tucumcari NM)
This should read "Here we WERE...." because the entire Pony Soldier Motel is gone, razed to its concrete foundations. Only the sign remains, and this is just the lower portion. The elaborate upper signage is a combination of neon and backlit plastic from late in the Route 66 era. It appears in the image "Pony Soldier Motel Sign."
