A collapsed wall allows a cross-section view. To seal exterior cracks, mortar was pushed through from inside. One chink near the top is about to fall off.

Inside the logs are furring strips running vertically. There's evidence elsewhere that cotton batting was placed between them for insulation.

Finally, for the walls, sheets of masonite were nailed up. Several are visible, discolored and warped, at the far right.
