OLD SHERMAN CEMETERY (Lincoln Highway Sherman WY)
It's beyond a ghost town now--only some foundation stones and pits remain. Sherman was a Union Pacific town that occupied this windswept high point on the transcontinental railroad, completed in 1869. The UPRR bypassed this whole section in 1901, and the town failed.
The Lincoln Highway pushed through just over a decade later, using some of the abandoned railroad bed.
