SALOON (Lincoln Highway Columbus NE)

SALOON (Lincoln Highway Columbus NE)

This weathered replica sign hangs (at an angle) above the door to Glur's Tavern, a National Historic Site. A similar sign appears in an 1899 photograph.

This is billed as Nebraska's oldest tavern, and the "oldest continuously operating" tavern west of the Mississippi River--albeit under different names. Primarily a drinking establishment, it also serves hamburgers and the like.
