GANGSTER TABLEAU (Lincoln Highway Goshen IN)
This view is from outside a toy store window. The red SUV is passing in front of a 1939 police bunker with gunports. It was built to protect Goshen from "gangsters" traveling the Lincoln Highway, according to a commemorative plaque.
The bunker alone isn't much to photograph--but reflections bring the scene to life. They seem to show a 1950s police car in hot pursuit of a 1930s gangster car--while two Corvettes scramble toward safety on the sidewalk.
Since everything (except for the toy cars) is a reflection, the image has been flipped to eliminate mirror-effect.
