MARSH ARCH BRIDGE BEFORE SUNRISE (Rt 66 nr Baxter Springs KS)

MARSH ARCH BRIDGE BEFORE SUNRISE (Rt 66 nr Baxter Springs KS)

A below-the-horizon sun paints the Eastern surface and allows a look at the substructure of the Marsh reinforced-concrete arch bridge. This is the last survivor of its type on Rt 66. It served from 1926 to 1960 and is still open to cars in a park setting. This image was taken from the modern bypass.
