This elaborate stamped metal storefront mimics stone blocks, carved stone pillars, and shingles. And it throws in a few over-the-top swirls for good measure. This was a lumber and building supply store around the time of the first automobiles. It pre-dates Route 66 by exactly 30 years.

Everything you see here is just a fancy facade. Today's equivalent is the wavy galvanized 4x8 foot sheets used on barns.
