The Pony Express shared much of its trail with covered wagons and stagecoaches. Here the going is very easy. The landscape is gentle, dotted with trees and lush with springtime grasses as the Midwest begins turning into the High Plains. There is a creek just ahead and many pioneers camped nearby.
