Nebraska's Platte River Valley offers a natural transportation route, used by animals, Native Americans, and later American settlers. It hosted the Oregon, California and Mormon Trails, the Pony Express, Transcontinental Telegraph and Railroad, and later Lincoln Highway, US 30 and I-80.

Here the Pony Express waits for traffic to clear while a Union Pacific train moves nearby. Seems everybody's heading west today.
